Overnight hot flashes are ruining my sleep. Exhausted here. Are the remedies listed somewhere ? Anyone have any success with them ? Thanks.

I used the Climara brand 0.025 mg/day estrogen patches for 3 years. My experience was the patches eliminated all the night hot flashes and I could get a restful sleep. During the day and normal activity, the hot flashes were certainly diminished. During exertion I still had significant hot flashes. The patches will not help with physical fatigue and a personal trainer can do wonders in that area because at least retaining and preferably building muscle on ADT is that important.

T3aNO, <1 mm non focal EPE, GS8, 21 mm uni-focal tumor involved 10% of prostate.
7 Nodes, SV, SM, PNI, and BNI were negative.
LVI and Cribriform pattern present.
Decipher .86 High Risk.

I still take venlafaxine daily and have done so for five years now. There are SE's, but the greatest problem is discontinuation once you've started taking it. My RO had Rx'd Megace for hot flashes but my GP did not want me taking any hormones due to possible blood clots. I had read about venlafaxine in the original PCF forum and asked my GP about it. I had never had any mental health or emotional problems until cancer started messing with my hormone levels, but ADT was really affecting my moods. Ven cut my hot flashes about in half, in frequency, intensity and duration, but it took a while for my moods to stabilize. All though I am no longer on ADT, the Lupron apparently had destroyed my testosterone production, so hot flashes are still a problem now four years later. But titrating off of venlafaxine is a long and difficult process, so I keep taking it. And I would guess that my hot flashes, which generally don't start until evening, could likely be worse if I were not still taking ven.Originally posted by Duck2 View Post
It is definitely an effective solution to problems with ADT, but is not something to jump into without serious consideration of the baggage that comes with it.
